About:

Stills is an exhibition of recent works by artist Nathan Abels. The paintings presented by Abels capture vignettes of the human habitat. His artwork is influenced by a sense of place, the organization of both public and private space, and finding content in places that are typically overlooked.

New Exhibition – “Ecocentric”

RULE Gallery is pleased to present a group exhibition “Ecocentric”. The exhibition runs Friday, August 8th through Saturday, September 13th, 2008. I will be showing three works from my most recent show called “A Blur Defines It”.
A selection of the artists that will be included in the exhibition: include:
Nathan Abels, Hanno Ahrens, Kim Dickey, Mary Ehrin, Jacob Fiege, Nancy Jeffrey, Heidi Jung, Ted Kincaid, and Yoshitomo Saito.

The first issue of Modern In Denver features a four page spread about my work, interviewed by Katie Taft.  Pick one up at Tattered Cover, Mod Livin or several other locations around Denver.  Only three bucks!

“Paralleled III”

The next exhibition I will be a part of opens September 5th at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design’s Steele Gallery, called “Paralleled III“. The West Gallery showcases images of contemporary American landscapes. Artworks depict images of sublime mountains, deserted roads, suburban landscapes, and the kitschy west.

The East Gallery is devoted to French Street Art, art that reacts to the urban streets of France. Artworks in this gallery include cardboard stencils, works on canvas, futuristic sculpture and vinyl banners.

French Street Artists:

  • Jef Aerosol, Supakitch, Fafi, 36 Recyclab, Koralie, Zevs

American Landscape Artists:

  • Nathan Abels, Patti Hallock, Christopher Leavery, Daniel Sprick, Richard Wieth
